Help and answers for advertisers

How a campaign runs, how reach and interaction are measured, and how a creative gets approved. The answers and the key terms are here.

Frequently asked questions

Booking a campaign

How do I book a campaign?

You sign in to the ad portal, create your creatives, build a campaign and choose the screens in it. Then you submit the creatives for approval.

How do I choose the screens?

Inside the campaign. You search by place, address or location type, see the address and day price for every hit, and take the screens over one by one.

Can I run several campaigns at once?

Yes. You manage several campaigns side by side, each with its own targeting and run time.

Is there a minimum term?

No. You can pause a campaign in the ad portal at any time or switch off individual creatives. Only the days on which your creatives ran up to then are billed.

Do I have to set up the campaign myself?

No. If you would rather not set up your campaign in the ad portal yourself, request it through the contact form and choose “Book a campaign” there. regiowerber will get back to you. Every creative is reviewed on this path too.

Reach and measurement

How is reach measured?

A presence sensor counts anonymously how many people pass the screen. On public advertising screens the interaction counted is the scan of the QR code, on screens with touch every touch counts as well. Together they form an advertising currency with real numbers.

What do I see in the report?

The proof is created automatically, per day and creative: how often your message was seen and how often someone scanned the QR code or, on screens with touch, touched the content.

Approval and content

Is my advertising reviewed?

Yes, always. The operator of the respective spot reviews every creative on its own before it runs there for the first time, so it fits the setting at the screen. The review is mandatory, self-service included, and it is free of charge.

Which advertising is not allowed?

Excluded are unlawful, misleading and unfair content under Swiss unfair-competition law, political and religious advertising, pornographic and youth-endangering content, advertising for tobacco, addictive substances and gambling, and inadmissible health claims. Also rejected are discriminatory, violence-glorifying or inciting content, advertising that infringes third-party rights, and advertising that harms the standing of the locations or the people there. For products under statutory advertising restrictions, such as alcohol or medicines, those rules apply. The binding wording is the section on inadmissible advertising content in the terms.

When is a creative rejected for technical reasons?

When the file does not play, when it runs longer than the maximum duration, when it loads files or addresses from outside your media library, when the text is not legible, when the QR code leads nowhere or somewhere other than announced, or when it imitates controls.

Which formats and resolutions can I submit?

A creative can be an image (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP or AVIF), a video (MP4, WebM or MOV, played without sound), a multi-page PDF or a document you write in Markdown or HTML. To a document you can add PDF or image attachments, shown as a tap-to-open link. The screens typically show Full HD, that is 1920 × 1080 pixels in landscape or 1080 × 1920 pixels in portrait; the advertising portal shows the resolution and format of each screen when you pick your screens. A creative runs for 30 seconds at most. A location can have a shorter display time, in which case the creative is cut off there after that time, and some locations show no video. You see both when choosing the screens. How to build a document in Markdown or HTML is shown in the guide.

How long is my creative shown at a time?

The ads run one after another, each for 30 seconds at most, in rotation.

How soon does my campaign run once the creatives are approved?

It appears on the screens you chose, with no one having to do anything on site. The screens fetch the change by themselves.

Privacy and price

Is personal data of the people in front of the screen collected?

No. There is no camera and no facial recognition on the screens. The count only records anonymously whether someone passes by and whether the screen was touched or the QR code was opened, revDSG-compliant.

What does a campaign cost?

Each asset costs the day price of each chosen screen on every day it runs, and a video asset carries a surcharge. The range of day prices and a worked example are on the pricing page.

How does payment work?

You choose between card or TWINT and invoice. Billing follows the playout, monthly, over the days your assets ran. With card or TWINT the amount is charged to the stored means of payment, and you receive the invoice as a receipt.

How your advertising runs

When is my advertising shown?

Your campaign runs once four things are in place: the campaign is switched active, all its creatives are approved by the operator of the respective spot, your payment method is chosen and you have accepted the terms and the data-processing agreement. If one is missing, the campaign waits until it is met, then starts on its own.

What is a creative, what is a campaign?

A creative is a single ad piece (text, image, PDF, video). A campaign bundles creatives, steers the audience and the run time and switches them on or off. Approval sits on the creative, not on the campaign.

Does a new campaign start right away?

No. A newly created campaign is inactive. You switch it active on purpose once it is ready.

Approval

How do I submit a creative for approval?

Open the creative’s preview in the creatives list and click “Submit” below it. It then goes to the operator of the respective spot for review. You can submit each creative on its own. Alternatively a campaign submits all open creatives at once with “Submit all creatives”.

How long does approval take?

That lies with the operator of the respective spot. They review each creative on its own and promptly, so the screens stay clean. You see the status per operator with the creative.

My creative was rejected. What now?

The reason is shown on the creative. Revise the content accordingly and submit again.

What happens when I edit an approved creative?

Only a content change (text, image, template) resets it to open, then it has to be reviewed again, and campaigns with this creative pause meanwhile. Renaming or a branding change does not reset the approval.

Editing a campaign

Does a change to the campaign stop playback?

No. Adding an approved creative, changing the order, removing a creative or changing the selection of screens keeps the campaign running. If you add a creative that has not been reviewed yet and leave it switched on, the campaign pauses on the screens of every operator that has not approved it yet; submit it for review.

Where do I see whether my campaign is running?

By the traffic light in the campaign list: red is inactive, amber is waiting for the approval of a creative, green is running.

Can I swap a creative while the campaign runs?

Yes, at any time. You can change a creative or replace it with a new one. A changed or new creative goes back into review and only runs once approved. While a switched-on creative waits for its review, the campaign pauses on the screens of the operator still reviewing it.

Reach and numbers

What do reach, clicks and take-aways mean?

Reach is the anonymously counted movement in front of the screens while your campaign ran. Clicks are taps on your content and only occur on screens with touch. Take-aways count how often someone scanned the QR code; on public advertising screens that is the interaction that gets counted. All numbers are attributed per campaign: the same content in two campaigns counts separately for each.

From when do the numbers count?

From the day you created the campaign. A fresh campaign inherits no numbers from before.

Payment

How do I pay for advertising?

After the playout, by invoice or by card and TWINT. You book your campaign, it runs, and you receive a monthly invoice for the actual playback. With card or TWINT the amount is charged to the stored means of payment, and the invoice stays the receipt for it.

What is billed for?

For the playback: per asset the days it ran on a screen, each at that screen's day price, plus the surcharge for a video asset. Reach and interaction are shown alongside as proof of value and do not enter the price.

What happens if I do not pay an invoice?

In case of payment default your campaigns are paused until the open invoice is settled.

Why do I need a payment method and the accepted terms and data-processing agreement before advertising runs?

So that billing runs correctly and the legal basis is in place. As long as the payment method is missing or the terms and the data-processing agreement are not accepted, your advertising is not played out.
